Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data the Forsetak app collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what rights you have over it. By using the app you agree to it.

Who we are

Forsetak is a Jordanian platform that lists offers from local shops across the Kingdom. We are responsible for the data collected through the app and the website. For anything relating to privacy, write to info@forsetak-jo.com

What we collect

Required to create an account:

• Your phone number — the only way to sign in, since we send a one-time code to it.
• Your full name.
• Your city, so we can show you the shops near you.

Optional, and entered by you: profile photo, gender, age, marital status, occupation, household size, and the shop categories that interest you. Leaving these empty does not limit your use of the app; filling them in makes the offers you receive closer to what you care about.

Device data, collected automatically: device identifier, operating system and version, device model, app version, interface language and time zone. We use these to run the app correctly on your device and to diagnose faults.

Usage data: shops you viewed recently, shops you marked as not interested, and the notifications you were sent and read.

Notification token: a technical identifier issued by Firebase for your device, used to deliver notifications to it and nothing else.

We do not collect your location, your contacts, your photos, or any payment data — no purchase takes place inside the app.

Why we use it

• To verify who you are at sign-in and protect your account.
• To show you the shops and offers in your city.
• To notify you when an offer matching your city or interests goes live.
• To prevent abuse and limit repeated sign-in attempts.
• To understand, in aggregate, how the app is used and improve it.

Notifications, and how to control them

Notifications are how an offer reaches you. At any time you can:

• Turn off offer notifications in the app's settings.
• Mark a shop as not interested — after which no notification about its offers is sent to you.
• Turn notifications off entirely in your phone's system settings.

The app keeps your last twenty notifications; older ones are deleted automatically.

Who we share it with

We do not sell, rent or trade your data. We do not share your personal data with the shops listed in the app. We do use service providers that process specific data on our behalf:

• Google (Firebase) — to deliver notifications and for aggregate usage statistics.
• Our SMS provider — receives only your phone number and the verification code, in order to deliver the message.
• Our hosting provider — stores the database on its servers.

Transfers outside Jordan

Our servers and those of our providers operate outside the Kingdom, in Europe. Your data is therefore stored and processed outside Jordan, with providers we contract on the basis that they maintain an adequate level of protection.

How long we keep it

• Account data: for as long as your account exists.
• Verification codes: a few minutes, then erased.
• Notifications: the most recent twenty.
• Limited technical logs: a short period, for security and fault diagnosis.

When you delete your account, your personal data is deleted or de-identified.

Your rights

Under Jordan's Personal Data Protection Law No. 24 of 2023, you have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about you.
• Correct anything inaccurate — most of it is editable inside the app.
• Delete your account and your data.
• Withdraw your consent to notifications or to the optional profile data.
• Complain to the competent authority in the Kingdom.

To exercise any of these, write to info@forsetak-jo.com and we will respond within a reasonable period.

Security

Traffic to the app is encrypted end to end, sign-in is protected by a one-time code valid for minutes, and administrative access to the data is limited to those who need it. No safeguard is absolute, but your data is handled on that footing.

Children

The app is not directed at anyone under sixteen and we do not knowingly collect their data. If we learn otherwise, the account is deleted.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date of the last update appears at the top of this page, and we will tell you in the app if anything material changes.
